Ayera : The Chaos Rebellion Part 2
Hi folks, as promised here’s a comprensive update about the artwork I did for Ayera : The Chaos Rebellion.
The artwork, for the most part was complete in November 2008, but like all things it took a while for all the elements to come together for the band( Who can be found here) .
Above is a draft version of the artwork done in Illustrator, I narrowed down the designs with the band one afternoon, and settled on this one. As you can see the colours aren’t final, often when I’m doing draft artwork for people I’ll use basic flat colours, as well as several layers so I can easily modify things on the fly, I’ve found this to be a valuable practice within my work.
To the left you can see both the final versions of the artwork.
Above you can see the disc and back cover artwork.
And finally the final printed and stamped product. First the bad, the printing can out far to dark, and frankly I’m a little pissed about that. I wish I had picked up on that, or demanded a proof from them before the final go ahead. Otherwise I think the final product is pretty good the disc looks great and the artwork turned out nicely, even after a year I still feel that I did some pretty good work on it. You can buy the EP from the band at their Myspace page, or from them at gig’s (also listed on there myspace page). Or you can download the music from http://www.bunalti.com/?p=95194.
Cheers Luke
