Short Comic Sneak Preview / Ben and Sophie
I know right another short comic? This one was written by the amazing Louise Hardwick*, a very talented lady, who I from time to time try and drag into comics, and will be published on Grawlix Issue 2 coming out of Toronto later in the year. More info as it comes to hand on.
* If, only if, Louise were a chocolate sailor zombie she might look something like this …

MILF (OR Mummy I’d like to Find)
So, I make allot of comics, send them off to anthologies, save them on my computer and store them in my cupboard. Of all the things I do with my comics, showing them to people and getting them printed isn’t always one of them. It something I’m trying to change, but for some reason, I don’t find that aspect of the comic making process easy.
Anyway enough deep thought, I’ve got a comic to show, written by James Andre and possibly published in one of his Yuck books, MILF!(Or Mummy I’d like to find!). Drawn earlier this year, its a story about mummies, real and Egyptian, bad and badder, and a little girl who needs some love.

What happened in April and May, and a ton of new comics and comic news!
So, since my extended visit to Vancouver, Port Moody to be exact, the blog here has been a little quiet. I’ve been busy with a multitude of things here, some childcare, some web design, some sightseeing, and even some comics, believe it or not.
Towards the end of my stay in Toronto, I kicked my comic output to almost 4 pages a day for a little over a week. Sadly the duties of my life have meant that I haven’t been able to create at that pace recently, but still I’ve been fighting the good fight and getting stuff drawn, inked and coloured.
Anyway, without going into detail, here is a little rundown of my recent comic activities of late…
In the gallery of Henri Beauchamp
I’ve final got my print copies of these, and although I haven’t figure out a price, I’ll be updating the site shortly with how you can get one of these little full colour books by myself and Gerard Dywer.
Allochthonous Pop
This is a new comic I’m working on with my good friend James Andre. I’ve drawn the first 19 pages and coloured 10 of them to date. This project has grown from a little idea for a short story into a larger piece that’ll have atleast 3 issues. Stay tuned. But for now, here is page 3 of the first book!
Grawlix One: The Subway Issue
I did a short three page story for this anthology in Toronto, which is put together by Dalton Sharp, one of the organizers behind the fantastic monthly Comic Jam in Toronto. You can find out more about the book here at Grawlix.ca. The book was launched a few weeks ago at TCAF, which I sadly missed. I’ll post the comic here on my blog in the next couple of weeks as my regular posting schedule resumes!
Dirt Nap Issue One
Not one of my projects, though I did colour one of the fantastic stories included in it. This book, by Brendan Halyday, includes some stories written by frequent collaborators of mine, James Andre and Gerard Dywer. It’s a beautiful book, and in full colour too.
You can purchase it here.
I think that catches everyone up on the happenings in my life for the moment. I have a few other projects that are in the works and I’m sure you’ll hear about them shortly! Until next time, Cheers.

Free Comic Book Day 2011
So today was free comic book day across the globe. I had a friend handing out comics in Bergen in Norway; friends having a blast in Melbourne with signings and the monthly comic meet; and all types of people having and enjoying comics for free all over the world! Gerard Dywer and I were lucky enough to contribute to a Free Comic Book day Anthology put together by Anthony Woodward.
Theres a ton of really awesome Australian comic-bookers that contributed, it’s totally free, and you can download it here. You have no excuse, go download it and have a read and enjoy whats left of Free Comic Book day for 2011.
Cheers Luke
